Brigantia, a growing cybersecurity distributor, held another successful event recently, in the form of an Email Security Summit. The summit, held at London's prestigious Imperial War Museum, drew a large crowd of vendors, MSPs, and industry experts to discuss a growing topic of concern within cybersecurity: email security. As many as 90% of cyber attacks begin with some form of phishing attempt. Brigantia hosted the summit to help channel partners in staying ahead of the growing threat. The summit included Q&As and a drinks reception in addition to expert talks from leading vendors to encourage two-way conversations and knowledge sharing. The following individuals spoke:

  • Angus Shaw (Sales Director, Brigantia) provided an introduction to the event
  • Irvin Shillingford (Regional Manager for Northern Europe, Hornetsecurity) discussed improving Microsoft Office security
  • Robert McFeely (Founder, Octiga) discussed Office 365 security, and how best to monitor and manage it
  • Jelle Wieringa, (Security Advocate, KnowBe4) discussed how to build “the human firewall” through innovative approaches to phishing awareness training
  • Alan Case (Global Head of Channel, Heimdal) discussed financial fraud prevention and Heimdal’s layered approach that combines multiple solutions in a single portal

Brigantia’s Sales Director, Angus Shaw, said:

"It's no surprise that phishing is the first act in so many cyberattacks. From the perspective of an attacker, phishing requires less time and skill than hacking, and they only need one email to fool one person. This creates an urgent need to improve our ability to stop them.

Anti-spam filters and brief, one-time phishing awareness training are no longer sufficient. I'm overjoyed with the success of our Email Security Summit in igniting those conversations and supporting partners in getting ahead. Events like these keep us all informed, connected, and better prepared to protect businesses from ever-changing threats. I'd like to thank all attendees for their contributions to the summit's success."
