At the start of 2024, we introduced Sendmarc to the UK channel. As we approach the first anniversary, we reflect on Sendmarc’s journey and its success within the Brigantia community.
The shift to DMARC
In January, Google and Yahoo required email authentication, including DMARC policies, for bulk senders – those sending over 5,000 emails daily. While most SMEs don’t meet this threshold, it marked a turning point. Without proper authentication (SPF, DKIM, and DMARC), email deliverability suffers. Experts agree this threshold was just the beginning, with security risks remaining a larger concern.
Email security traditionally focuses on protecting inboxes, but domain spoofing is a growing issue. If your domain is spoofed, attackers can execute convincing phishing attacks, causing reputational harm. This is where DMARC plays a critical role.
Why DMARC matters
DMARC is an email authentication protocol that prevents spoofing and phishing. It ensures emails are authenticated using SPF and DKIM and provides domain owners with visibility into unauthorised email activity. Domain owners can also dictate how unauthenticated emails are handled—whether rejected, quarantined, or monitored.
Why Sendmarc?
At Brigantia, we carefully select vendors based on quality and MSP-friendliness. Sendmarc, a young company solving a real-world problem, fits this profile perfectly. Sendmarc streamlines DMARC implementation by automatically managing and monitoring SPF and SKIM, ensuring emails pass authentication checks.
A landmark year
Sendmarc’s growth in the UK market has been exceptional. A major highlight was exhibiting together at Infosecurity, one of Europe’s most prominent cybersecurity events. Infosec is buzzing with industry professionals, students, and business leaders. Amid the competition, Sendmarc drew significant attention.
One standout moment was showcasing Sendmarc’s domain impersonation tool, a “white hat” spoofer demonstrating how easily domains can be spoofed. This tangible example highlighted the critical need for email authentication and prevention measures.
Raising DMARC awareness
Throughout the year, we kept DMARC and Sendmarc at the forefront. From a blog covering North Korean phishing exploits to webinars like ‘The Future of DMARC’, we educated organisations on the importance of email security. We also highlighted MTA-STS, a protocol enforcing TLS for email, supported by Sendmarc to simplify hosting and configuration for organisations.
The rising threat of supply chain attacks further drove demand for DMARC as businesses increasingly require their suppliers to implement email authentication.
Real results with Sendmarc
Since onboarding Sendmarc, over 200 partners have joined, securing more than 2,000 domains. Sendmarc’s success in the Brigantia community speaks for itself. Our case study with Aabyss is a prime example of its impact on our partners.
A further boost came through Brigantia’s partnership with leading MSP Air IT, which now offers Sendmarc’s platform to its UK-wide customer base, supported by Brigantia’s expertise.
Looking ahead
In November, Sendmarc introduced a new user-based pricing model, making it even easier for MSPs of all sizes to adopt and benefit from DMARC solutions.
2024 has been a phenomenal year for Sendmarc, aligning with Brigantia’s mission to address genuine cybersecurity challenges while creating solid opportunities for partners. We’re excited to build on this momentum in 2025.
