What is the ALLOWLIST?
Given the IT background of this readership, there is little point in labouring the fact that an “allow list” is another name for a whitelist. As Wikipedia so nicely puts it, “Whitelisting is the practice of explicitly allowing some identified entities access to a particular privilege, service, mobility, access or recognition. It is the opposite of blacklisting.”
Anyway, back to the plot: Let’s let the guys at the ALLOWLIST explain what it is all about.
Who we are
We are a team from Yorkshire, England who saw a gap in the market for a vetted preferred supplier list for cyber security and data protection. We identified that there was no one-stop shop, no single portal, no single place people could go to find trusted solutions to the problems they were having. Our founder is a 20-year veteran of the information security industry, our creative director has over 20 years’ experience in the design, creative and marketing industry and our commercial and customer director is an expert in connecting people to solutions. We bring with us our Yorkshire values of trust, honesty, and decency. We respect a good day’s work for a good day’s pay. We believe in treating people equally and fairly.
What we stand for
We want customers to get the quality solutions they need at a price that is right for them. Our mission is to improve both the quality and the speed of the sourcing and purchase of cyber security and data security solutions, and to hold those businesses to account in terms of their credibility and their customer service.
